Islamic Studies Classes

Islamic Studies Classes taught exclusively by Islamic Scholar Syed Hussain Shah Al-Azhari are available for children and youth and aim to teach children the key skills that will help them to become good Muslims through learning their beliefs, manners, morals and the beautiful life example of the blessed Prophet. They will also learn how to pray and all the details of Fiqh of prayer. It will enable students to understand their beliefs, attitudes, morals and manners that will shape their worldview. Children between the ages of 7 and puberty should begin to take responsibility for their own personal hygiene, learn how to; do Wudhu, pray, develop Islamic manners and have moral virtues. The course levels are each divided into the following six sections;
  • Aqaid – beliefs of Islam.
  • Fiqh – detailed rulings about worship and other aspects of daily life.
  • Seerah – the biography of the blessed Prophet Memorisation of Du’as and Surahs.
  • Morals – the training, which enables a person to be good, kind and caring.
  • Manners – polite and courteous ways of dressing, speaking and eating.

The Islamic Studies Kids Classes

The Islamic Studies Kids classes follow the Let’s Learn Islam Elementary curriculum, and is spread out over four levels for a comprehensive but easy to follow education.

Let’s Learn Islam Elementary Level 1

covers various areas of duas, fiqh, beliefs and manners.
The Hifz of Duas and Holy Words section covers duas for a variety of situations including meeting people, making plans,
eating food, and thanking people.
The Beliefs and Religion section covers beliefs regarding the attributes of Allah, the Prophet Muhammad, the Day of
Judgement.
The Fiqh section covers cleanliness, istinja, wudhu, and placing shoes in racks.
The Manners section covers parents, good habits, sharing, telling the truth, being clean and tidy, avoiding anger, and the
beautiful names of Allah.
All sections are followed by a quiz, and students must demonstrate complete comprehension of the material before
progressing to subsequent levels.

Let’s Learn Islam Elementary Level 2

covers various areas of duas, fiqh, beliefs and manners.
The Hifz of Duas and Holy Words section covers duas for a variety of situations including the second holy word, duas for
entering and leaving the bathroom, the adhan, duas for entering and leaving the masjid, Al-Fatihah, Al-Ikhlas, and what to say
after Salah. This is followed by a quiz.
The Beliefs and Religion section covers beliefs regarding the attributes of Allah, the Prophet Muhammad and the Day of
Judgement.
The Fiqh section covers the headscarf and cap, looking after religious books, the 5 pillars of Islam, drying ourselves and
turning away from the Qibla.
The Manners sections covers classroom rules, Islamic manners, and the beautiful names of Allah.

Let’s Learn Islam Elementary Level 3

covers various areas of Duas, Fiqh, beliefs and manners.
The memorisation of Duas and Holy words section covers duas for a variety of situations including Iman Mujmal, Iman
Mufassal, the nature of Hadith, Surah al-Falaq, and Surah an-Nas. This is followed by a quiz.
The Beliefs and Religion section covers the nature of the Qur’an, the Names of holy books, what is a Hadith, what is a Sunnah,
who were the Sahabah, who the Mothers of the Believers are, who is a Shaheed, and who is a Wali of Allah.
The Fiqh section covers sitting away from children who may distract you, how to stand for Jama’ah, how to avoid being
distracted by others during prayers, and girls and ladies in Jama’ah.
The Manners sections covers being kind to neighbours, listening to teachers and parents, not to bully, or be bullied, not to
steal, cheat and lie, not to waste food and drink , and learn the beautiful names Allah.

Let’s Learn Islam Elementary Level 4

covers various areas of duas, fiqh, beliefs and manners.
The Hifz of Duas and Holy Words section covers duas for a variety of situations including the third and fourth holy words, ayat
al Kursi, duas for waking up and going to bed, duas for entering and leaving the house. This is followed by a quiz.
The Beliefs section covers beliefs regarding the attributes of Allah, the Prophet Muhammad and his family, angels, Prophets,
the Day of Judgement and Jannah.
The Fiqh section covers the 5 pillars of Islam individually and the importance of Jummah is also covered.
The Manners sections covers the Islamic manners of behaving with guests, entering different rooms, good and bad habits,
morals and values, good and bad habits and an introduction to spirituality.

Islamic Studies Youth Classes

Islamic Studies Youth Classes taught exclusively by Islamic scholar Syed Hussain Shah Al-Azhari begin with the Let’s Learn
Islam Intermediate and Advanced curriculum. Students who completed the Let’s Learn Islam curriculum will progress to a
specially curated course of advanced Islamic studies of traditional Arabic texts by world renowned Islamic Scholars.
The Let’s Learn Islam four level course includes everything that your child needs to progress on their journey of learning their
deen. The textbooks cover the subjects of Fiqh, Sirah, Dua, Aqiqah and Morals & Manners are explored in more detail. Both
the range and depth of topics covered is sufficient to cater for needs of a young practising Muslim. The workbooks follow the
same layout as its corresponding textbook and include activities such as fill in missing words, crosswords, word searches,
translating Arabic phrases and Surahs, multiple-choice and many more varied activities to keep your child engaged.

Let’s Learn Islam Level 1

covers the following areas of Fiqh; Importance of keeping clean and performing Wudhu. It breaks
down the Fardh, Sunnah and Mustahab actions and the acts that break Wudhu. A full illustrated description of
how to perform Wudhu is given. Tayammum is also covered including the circumstances in which Tayammum can
be performed and description of how to do it.
Manners in Islam covers the Islamic etiquettes of sneezing, yawning, sleeping, waking up, going to toilet and brushing teeth
accompanied by Duas for children to learn and practice in their daily lives.
Morals in Islam covers; being just and fair, patience, jealously, greed and sincerity taught via examples from the lives of
Prophets Muhammad, Yusuf and Ayub.
Memorisation of Duas includes the Imans Mujmal and Muffasal, the first, second and third Kalimahs (holy words).
The Sirah section begins with the Year of the Elephant, the important events around the birth of Prophet Muhammad his
father, mother, grandfather and wet nurse. Also included are the trip to Syria, meeting with Waraqa, rebuilding of the Ka’bah
until Ali accepts Islam.

Let’s learn Islam Level 2

continues developing on knowledge gained from level 1. The subjects of Fiqh, Sirah, Dua, Aqiqah
and Morals & Manners and explored in more detail. Both the range and depth of topics covered is sufficient to cater for needs
of a young practicing Muslim, and covers the following areas of Fiqh; Eleven Important Fiqh Terms, Ghusl, explanation of the
importance of Salah, the Adhan, 6 Conditions for Salah, the Fardhs of Salah, how to pray Salah illustrated with photographs
and including the English meaning ending a selection of Zikr and Duas after Salah.
Manners in Islam covers the Islamic etiquettes of showering, eating, caring for others rights to parents, dressing and general
cleanliness. Morals in Islam cover five virtues of; honesty, patience, kindness, justice and forgiveness, explained with examples
from the life of the Prophet Muhammad.
Memorisation completes the 6 Kalimahs (holy words) and includes Surahs al; Kauthar, Ma’un, Quraysh, Fil, Humaza, Asr and
Takathur.
Sirah of Prophet Muhammad continues with the first call to Islam and includes the important events up until the Migration to
Madinah.

Let’s Learn Islam Level 3

covers the following areas of Fiqh; the Wajibat, Sunnah,Mustahabat, Makruhat, Mufsidat of Salah.
The Fiqh of Jummah (Friday) Prayer, Janaza (Funeral) Prayer, Eid Prayer and Nafl (voluntary)Prayer.
Manners in Islam covers the Islamic etiquettes of not being wasteful, politeness, being punctual and helping others.
Memorisation incorporates Duas for the day and Night including, waking, sleeping, travelling, going to toilet, entering and
leaving the Masjid, beginning and end of a meal, entering and leaving the home, fasting, visiting the market place, looking in
the mirror and visiting Graveyards
Sirah of Muhammad continues with the arrival of the Prophet Muhammad in Madinah and explains the relationship and issues
with the groups of people already living there. Covers all the major treaties and battles up until the conquest of Makkah. See

Aqaid (The Muslim Creed) looks at the beliefs around Allah, The Day of Judgement, Intercession and the Prophets.

Let’s Learn Islam Level 4

covers the following areas of Fiqh; the Fiqh rulings for Ramadhan Fasting, Itikaf, Laylat al-Qadr
(Night of Power). The wisdom of Zakah and rulings of paying Zakah. An Overview of Hajj; including the conditions and rules
regarding it, visiting the blessed city of Madinah.
Manners in Islam covers the Islamic etiquettes of reading the Holy Qur’an and books of Hadith.
Sirah of Prophet Muhammad looks at 12 Miracles of the beloved Prophet (peace be upon him).
Aqaid (The Muslim Creed) continues with the beliefs of the Ahl al-Sunnah wal Jama’ah.

Arabic Classes

Our Arabic course follows the award winning AT-TaKallum Arabic Curriculum for non Arabic speakers. This comprehensive
Modern Arabic Course is distinguished by its adoption of modern teaching techniques, and its step-by-step approach from
beginner to advanced, which makes learners feel comfortable and ready to take on the challenge of learning a new language.
Students will learn Quranic Arabic in order to develop a deeper understanding of the Word of Allah as well as Modern
Standard Arabic allowing them to communicate fluently and easily with Arabic speakers around the world. This comprehensive
four level course is suitable for students who have successfully completed the qaida and are able to read fluently. Students
must also be willing to study diligently outside of classes in order to progress and memorise vocabulary.
Content:
        • Uses the practical Arabic for everyday communication in Egypt and the Middle East.
        • Includes topics with a focus on daily life.
        • Uses a variety of activity types and exercises to motivate students.
        • Presents grammar rules in a logical manner and in increasing order of difficulty.
        • Includes comprehensive practice of all skills to build students’ confidence.
